Do or Don't?

Will you be sporting a Doctor Zhivago-esque Russian fur hat this winter?
{Annie & the Wild Animals}.

The original inspiration: Julie Christie
What do we think, ladies? It's {once again} time to weigh in! Do or don't?

Cheers.

Dreaming of Edwardian Fireplaces?

Look no further: Royal Apothic Household Perfume + Candle in "Distillation of an Edwardian Fireplace" are aromatic perfection. I want to give them as Christmas gifts to just about everyone I know. The scent is "based on formulas found in a centuries old apothecary manual, detailing the perfumes created for European royalty; ideal for lending a bit of regal atmosphere from room to room." You must swing by your nearest Anthropologie to smell for yourself!
Just who could resist this gorgeous packaging {antique labels + tartan bows}?
Cheers.

Cracks

How good does this look?

Actress Eva Green {of CASINO ROYALE fame} has such a stunning presence, and an almost other-worldly beauty, doesn't she? I look forward to this one!

Opening Night: THE LITTLE FOXES

You may have noticed the advertisements for Lillian Hellman's THE LITTLE FOXES at the Pittsburgh Public Theater featured here these past few weeks. I've journeyed back to Pittsburgh to work on this exciting, new production of an American theater masterpiece. I thought you all might enjoy seeing some of the promotional stills from the production and {scroll down} for some footage on film! Just a little glimpse of what I've been working on: I do hope you enjoy!
{Don't you just love the big bow + long braid? I feel like a little Victorian doll!}.
Synopsis: Living in 1900 in the New South, the wealthy Hubbard clan will go to any lengths to get even richer. When a lucrative business venture beckons them, they turn against each other in a vicious struggle fueled by greed and the lust for power. Acclaimed actress Helena Ruoti will play the coveted role of Regina, made famous on the screen by Bette Davis, and on the stage by Anne Bancroft, Elizabeth Taylor, and Stockard Channing, to name but a few.
As promised, here's a sneak peek on the set of THE LITTLE FOXES with PPT artistic director Ted Pappas {and scenes from the show!}. Can you spot me?

If you happen to be in Pittsburgh, I do hope you'll join us. THE LITTLE FOXES plays in a limited engagement at the O'Reilly Theater, now through December 13th {click here for more information on show times + tickets}.

Thank you all for indulging me in a little {shameless} self-promotion! Cheers.

Do or Don't? {revisited}

Extensive online research {err...shopping} has led me to these neat Nine West Clarks Wallabee-esque über-wedge boots. And I think I may be in love...
...still, one can never be too certain. The poll's been split 50/50 nearly all week long + I simply must hear more of what you think on the subject. So, have at it!
Do or Don't? Would you wear this style?

Cheers.

Lucky Lola

As I told Melissa, of the gorgeous Reverie Daydream Boutique and blog {featured here before}, I have always been one of those cosmically unlucky people. In all honesty, I can't recall having ever won any thing before in my entire life - until now! You just can't imagine how overjoyed I was to learn that I am the winner of the latest Reverie Daydream Giveaway, and will soon be the proud owner of my very own Noir et Bleu Lavender Eye Pillow by O'Susanna.
Hip hip hooray! I am {oh!} so happy. It just must be my lucky day!

Many thanks to the wonderfully giving Melissa. A million merci's!

Cheers.

Christmas Wish List

Dear Santa,

I've been especially good this year. For Christmas, I would like this Graham & Spencer Leopard Coat {I'm having a total Penny Lane moment}. Thank you!

Love, Lola

A long way from Wednesday Addams

She's never. looked. better.
I squealed with surprise and delight this afternoon when I came across this dress/cape hybrid on Christina Ricci {via the always-reliable, often-squeal-inducing Go Fug Yourself}. A bold choice, it must be said, but something about this look is really working for me. And you can tell she feels fabulous in it {just look at that expression!}. As the marvelous Isaac Mizrahi once said, "Style is 75 percent confidence and 25 percent...I don't know." See, confidence is key!

Cheers.

And...voilà!

Watch how these frames magically transform into a vase, a shelf, and a hook.
The idea is to "decorate and emphasize the objects within. Turn flowers, books, keys, jewelry, articles of clothing, and other ordinary objects into works of art." Awesome.

Annie Hall style

Play it androgynous-chic this season, circa Annie Hall-era Diane Keaton. Inspiration:

The {new} Sunday night fix

Mourning the loss of Sterling Cooper and Co.? Now that Mad Men's third season has come to a close, have you found yourself pining away for more episodic bliss on Sunday evenings? If so, allow me to recommend Bored To Death on HBO, starring Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson, and Zach Galifianakis.
1. It's hysterical.
2. Even my parents think it's hysterical {this is no small feat}.
3. You'll leave each episode with the teensiest crush on Jason Schwartzman.

I {highly} recommend it.

Cheers.

Do or Don't?

I had a good friend in college who swore by the comfort of Clarks Wallabee: a simple, unique, hand-sewn moccasin which has gained almost cult-like status since it's introduction in 1965 {this friend also happened to wear flannel like nobody's business and knew every lyric Phish has ever sung - get the picture?}.
You can imagine my intrigue when I came across this Cole Haan Air Bootie on Vogue. Similar concept + structure, but with an added wedge for the lady folk.

It's time to weigh in, darlings! Do or don't?

Cheers.
